About Me

Welcome to Mom Life With Ely.

I’m Ely Cortez. A blogger, storyteller, content creator, filmmaker, video editor, teacher, wife, and most importantly… a mom. I was born and raised in Oakland, California, a proud Latina (Mexican) mama, bilingual in English and Spanish, just doing my best like the rest of us.

Before motherhood, I spent years working behind the scenes with nonprofits, corporate teams, influencers, artists, and brands helping bring stories to life through video and content. But when I became a mom, everything shifted.

I realized something…

The world makes motherhood look easy. And it’s not. From pregnancy, to postpartum, to the toddler stage and beyond, there are so many emotions, challenges, and lessons that people don’t always talk about. A lot of moms feel it, but not everyone says it out loud.

So I decided to.

I stepped out from behind the scenes and into my own story. Mom Life With Ely was created to be a space for real motherhood. Not the perfect version. Not the filtered version. The honest one. This isn’t just about me.
It’s about us. It’s about sharing the messy moments, the beautiful ones, the lessons, the growth, and the love that carries us through it all. It’s about building a community where moms feel seen, supported, and reminded that they’re doing better than they think.

Because no matter what stage we’re in, one thing always stays the same…

Our kids will always be our babies 🤍

I truly believe moms are the heart of the home. We are the love, the comfort, the strength, and the glue holding everything together. We wear so many hats, yet we still show up for our babies in the most meaningful ways. And here, you don’t have to have it all together.

You just have to be real.

So cheers to motherhood 🥂
To the chaos, the growth, the love, and everything in between. If you’re a fellow mama, I’d love to connect with you. This isn’t just a blog.
It’s a community.

And I’m so glad you’re here.

— Ely 🤍
